Illinois Sophomore guard Ayo Dosunmu has announced on Twitter (@AyoDos_11) that he has declared for the 2020 NBA Draft. Dosunmu will be the second Illini player to enter the 2020 NBA Draft, as Freshman Kofi Cockburn also declared earlier this month. Ayo Dosunmu averaged 15.2 pts, 4.3 reb, and 3.3 ast. during his two-year career with the Fighting Illini. Dosunmu made multiple clutch plays that many Illini fans will remember for years to come. These include game-clinching shots at Ohio State, vs. #9 Michigan State, vs. Northwestern, at #17 Wisconsin, at Michigan, at #9 Penn State, vs. Indiana, and vs. #25 Iowa. Dosunmu’s departure leaves the Illini with only two of their top seven scorers from the 2019-2020 season. Like Cockburn, Dosunmu will not be hiring an agent. Dosunmu and Cockburn have until the June 15th deadline to withdraw their names from the 2020 NBA Draft.
