The Fighting Illini alumni team, “House of ‘Paign,” has given Illini fans much to cheer about during these times of uncertainty.
After defeating Auburn’s alumni team, “War Tampa,” in the first round Saturday, the House of ‘Paign knocked off the tournament’s number 1 seed “Carmen’s Crew” Wednesday.
Carmen’s Crew is the Ohio State Buckeyes’ alumni team, coached by former Buckeye Jared Sullinger.
South Dakota State alum Mike Daum led the House of ‘Paign with 23 points and 8 rebounds. Andres Feliz (15 pts, 8 reb, 5 ast) and Kyle Vinales (16 pts, 1 reb, 1 ast) also contributed to the win.
The Illini alumni held Carmen’s Crew’s star player Aaron Craft to only four points. David Lighty scored 21 points for the Ohio State alumni squad.
The House of ‘Paign will face 8 seed “Red Scare,” the Dayton Flyers’ alumni team in the third round.
