Reviewing Where Illinois Football Players Stand After 2020 NFL Draft

The Illinois Fighting Illini football team had six players eligible to be drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft.

USC transfer Junior linebacker Oluwole Betiku, Senior linebacker Dele Harding, Senior defensive tackle Jamal Milan, Senior defensive back Stanley Green, and Senior running backs Reggie Corbin and Dre Brown were the six eligible Illini.

None of them were selected.

Teddy Greenstein and Shannon Ryan of the Chicago Tribune explain how this is the fourth time in the past seven years the Illinois Fighting Illini have not had a single player selected in the NFL Draft.

Illinois was one of only nine power 5 schools who did not have an eligible player selected in the draft.

Ole Miss, Arizona, Iowa State, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Northwestern, Rutgers and Duke were the only other power five schools who didn’t have a player selected by an NFL team, according to ESPN’s Harry Lyles Jr.

Oluwole Betiku is currently the only Fighting Illini who has signed with a team as an undrafted free agent after signing with the New York Giants on April 28th.

The five remaining players still await to hear from an NFL team.
